Top politicians in power should not just surround themselves with advisers in finance, economics, defence, medical, communication, and sociology, but also a cool calm expert in psychology

I have been writing often about Australia PM Scott Morrison being a unrefined in dealing with diplomatic matters.

Let me put aside the way he handles China first, and go back to all those things he told Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, how to run his state, criticising them for not opening the state borders. Morrison turned from beating his chest in the public telling all Australians that “we are all Melbournians”, to telling Andrews bugger-all the way he imposition of strict lockdown during the pandemic and BRI project.

Andrews stayed very cool almost all the time, with slight sign of irritation in his body language when drilled repeatedly by the press for things he had said many times at daily update. He always said he had good relationship with Morrison, not once he said an bad about the PM, and any state premiers and territory chief ministers.

Besides these, Andrews had not criticised or reprimanded his staff for their wrong doing in the public to cause them any embarrassment.

Morrison suffers from foot-in-mouth disease. His words come out faster from his mouth than he can think and analyse the consequence in his brain. What is said cannot be retracted, and cause long term damage, not only to his image, but also the well-being of all Australians during his term in office. It is very damaging to corner a tiger that it has no choice but to jump over the wall, so to speak. If China does not buy iron ore from Australia, they can easily turn to Brazil which has the second largest in reserved. Interestingly, China’s reserve is just after Brazil.

Is Australia the only English speaking country in the world that China’s students can go to learn this language, one that is not even originated here. Our closest neighbour New Zealand, and the motherland of English, England will welcome them to bring along the education pot of gold anytime.

As for barley, Australia’s close buddy the US has been supplying China since the dispute began. Australia’s peace time allies are great mates during good time, but many are no different from hawks and vultures, waiting for the right moment, to grab and tear a piece of this succulent trade meat. Money means the same in all languages, and smells good especially in tough economic times. Why is the need of a psychologist adviser? For Morrison, a child psychologist may be a better choice. Modern parenting technique is about open dialogue and continuous communication with the children. We encourage the children to be peace loving, not only to fellow human beings, but also the environment. Parents are not to put children down or reprimand them publicly. Parents are not allowed even to raise their voice or use a wooden spoon to hit meatiest part of the body known as the bum.

The child psychologist reckons all these will affect the children’s development and makes them to be aggressive and hate rather to love.

Morrison can easily arrange an audio or video meeting with China to iron out the problems. Australia needs not to kowtow to China or eat humble pie.

Only great leader talks Peace, NOT Wars. Only great leaders put the well-being if their people before anything else. Morrison does not like other countries tell him in public how to run Australia. Yes, indeed I am doing likewise critiquing him openly. If I have a choice, I definitely like to say all that I want to say behind close door.

Thank you for reading.
