Australian expeditioner evacuated from Antarctica in five-day mission

This is the best opportunity for Morrison to break the ice and say thank you to China. Such appreciation will help towards patching up some damages caused by his finger pointing.

Why must he thank China? Please read the article.

PS. My friend pointed out that Australian government should thank other countries involved in the evacuation. Yes, she is right that Australia should so. Morrison has gone so quiet these days. Is he in North Pole visiting Santa?

Victoria's State of Disaster and State of Emergency extended again

Victoria's State of Disaster and State of Emergency extended again
https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/health-wellbeing/premier-extends-victorias-state-of-emergency-and-state-of-disaster-c-1378697

I kept asking the whingers what they would propose to deal with the pandemic lockdown if they were Daniel Andrews.

How does Kilmore become a victim of the spread?

Do the whingers know how Chadstone Butchers Club's manager get infected and had to spend time in ICU?

The State of Emergency and State of Disaster are not going to extend Daniel Andrews' term in office if he does not win the next state election in November 2022.

The money collected from fines does not go the Daniel Andrews superannuation or extra junket tours.

It is always easier to be an armchair general and blabber on like a backseat driver.

At the start, I wanted to see Andrews dismissed, but I changed my mind because of his determination to stick to his target set months ago despite being criticised by Tom, Dick and Harry, plus the almighty Trump's clone Morrison. No one said anything then, so whose fault is it?

Any suggestion of his replacement or should the position be declared vacant and let the opposite to be the caretaker?

For those anti-mask who think their human rights have been stripped, I wonder why they don't complain about the need of wearing clothing in the public, and that can't strip down to nothing!

NSW Premier was a bit of a bragger and a couple of days ago, NSW copped 10 cases!

Jacinda Ardern’s Labour government walks fine line on China ties

Jacinda Ardern’s Labour government walks fine line on China ties
https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/politics/article/3104001/new-zealand-votes-jacinda-arderns-labour-government-walks-fine

I have written often about Scott Morrison’s behaviour is unrefined and undiplomatic, and no better than a bully in a school yard. The linked article reflects everything I said how Australia led by Morrison and his gang of three may involve Australia in not only trade wars, but also head-on military clashes with the most powerful neighbour China. In the coming months when international borders are open in many countries, as I have written repeatedly that New Zealand will benefit from exponential export growth in international trade in education, tourism, dairy, vegetable and meat.

What will Australia going to do if our nearest neighbour New Zealand forms a greater bond with China? Is Australia going to start a verbal combat with New Zealand, or propaganda will fly encouraging Australians to be suspicious of our neighbour?

Iron ore export has declined in recent years, but I doubt the decline will not go further for the time being until the pandemic is over. The credit should go to mining magnate Twiggy Andrew Forrest of Western Australia who has developed close relationship with China. Forrest used his contacts to source 10 million coronavirus testing kits from China, initially thought Long Zhou was an employee of Fortescue.

https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/with-friends-like-twiggy-forrest-20200501-p54ovz

Further to that, Forrest might have his own commercial interests in mind when he invited Victoria Council-General to “gatecrash” Health Minister Greg Hunt’s press conference, demonstrates his great strategic skill in softening the harsh line taken by the government, and according some senior ministers this offered an “olive branch” to reduce the tension between Australia and China.

It is very sad that most marketing people tend to think of competitors as enemies, and must be exterminated. When the strongest competitor is gone, this gives the smaller, weaker and oppressed ones to rise up.

Politically, Morrison and his members, are rather politically immature. Are the PM’s advisers giving him such uncompromising advice, or the approach he adopts is all his?

Morrison digging a grave for Australia

Morrison digging a grave for Australia
https://asiatimes.com/2020/09/morrison-digging-a-grave-for-australia/

The linked article is not written by me, but sounds very much like what I have been blogging

Morrison with all his supporting ministers and mates, who are in favour of conflicts and confrontation with the goose that lays the golden eggs must go; the sooner the better, for the good and well-being of all Australians.

Does he understand the phrase “Lest we forget” other than words used on Remembrance Day? The phrase encapsulates the desire to remember the past tragedy and sacrifice and ensure that such bloody catastrophe never happens again.

In recent months, not only does he dip his hands in China’s pie, but also interferes in the affairs of the states especially Victoria and Queensland. He likes to be seen as the Big Brother, but he is far from being one for his uncompromising and undiplomatic style of leadership, just to put it mildly.

How is Australia going to fill the 800 billion dollars financial Black Hole? We, the Australians, cannot just live on eating our home grown barley and wheat, poured over with milk from our own farms, nutritious yet boring. We will be stripped off the lifestyle we have been enjoying for the past century.

Is Australia being bullied or forced into a corner politically, or held at ransom such that “we are either with them, or against them”? Without saying, the implied consequence of not being a team member is to deemed as an enemy. While life and death is in black and white, the decision to go to war is always in shades of grey. The winning strategy is not about killing the enemies, but to establish long lasting peace with minimum casualty.

Aggression provokes more aggression, and leads to wars and destruction. The ultimate destruction is the destruction of our civilisation.

Think peace and promote peace!

Australia has ‘painted itself into a geopolitical corner’ with China, but what is Beijing’s trade endgame?
https://www.scmp.com/economy/china-economy/article/3102228/australia-has-painted-itself-geopolitical-corner-china-what

Top politicians in power should not just surround themselves with advisers in finance, economics, defence, medical, communication, and sociology, but also a cool calm expert in psychology

I have been writing often about Australia PM Scott Morrison being a unrefined in dealing with diplomatic matters.

Let me put aside the way he handles China first, and go back to all those things he told Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, how to run his state, criticising them for not opening the state borders. Morrison turned from beating his chest in the public telling all Australians that “we are all Melbournians”, to telling Andrews bugger-all the way he imposition of strict lockdown during the pandemic and BRI project.

Andrews stayed very cool almost all the time, with slight sign of irritation in his body language when drilled repeatedly by the press for things he had said many times at daily update. He always said he had good relationship with Morrison, not once he said an bad about the PM, and any state premiers and territory chief ministers.

Besides these, Andrews had not criticised or reprimanded his staff for their wrong doing in the public to cause them any embarrassment.

Morrison suffers from foot-in-mouth disease. His words come out faster from his mouth than he can think and analyse the consequence in his brain. What is said cannot be retracted, and cause long term damage, not only to his image, but also the well-being of all Australians during his term in office. It is very damaging to corner a tiger that it has no choice but to jump over the wall, so to speak. If China does not buy iron ore from Australia, they can easily turn to Brazil which has the second largest in reserved. Interestingly, China’s reserve is just after Brazil.

Is Australia the only English speaking country in the world that China’s students can go to learn this language, one that is not even originated here. Our closest neighbour New Zealand, and the motherland of English, England will welcome them to bring along the education pot of gold anytime.

As for barley, Australia’s close buddy the US has been supplying China since the dispute began. Australia’s peace time allies are great mates during good time, but many are no different from hawks and vultures, waiting for the right moment, to grab and tear a piece of this succulent trade meat. Money means the same in all languages, and smells good especially in tough economic times. Why is the need of a psychologist adviser? For Morrison, a child psychologist may be a better choice. Modern parenting technique is about open dialogue and continuous communication with the children. We encourage the children to be peace loving, not only to fellow human beings, but also the environment. Parents are not to put children down or reprimand them publicly. Parents are not allowed even to raise their voice or use a wooden spoon to hit meatiest part of the body known as the bum.

The child psychologist reckons all these will affect the children’s development and makes them to be aggressive and hate rather to love.

Morrison can easily arrange an audio or video meeting with China to iron out the problems. Australia needs not to kowtow to China or eat humble pie.

Only great leader talks Peace, NOT Wars. Only great leaders put the well-being if their people before anything else. Morrison does not like other countries tell him in public how to run Australia. Yes, indeed I am doing likewise critiquing him openly. If I have a choice, I definitely like to say all that I want to say behind close door.

China's export boomed in August, but its purchases of Australia goods plunged

China's export boomed in August, but its purchases of Australia goods plunged
https://www.scmp.com/economy/china-economy/article/3100473/chinas-exports-boomed-august-imports-continued-slump-showing

The decline in Australian export is a reality check for the Australian government that it is not doing justice to its citizens by being too gung-ho and pig-head with its approach in dealing with China, in particular during the last few months.

According to the report that "China’s purchases of Australian goods plunge 26.2 per cent from a year earlier, even as exports to Australia jumped 24.4 per cent," It continues to say that "China’s trade deficit with Australia narrowed by 48.1 per cent year on year in August to just US$4.3 billion in August."

Scott Morrison is not refined enough to handle international diplomacy. Despite his successful “100% Pure New Zealand” campaign", he failed miserably with the infamous ‘Where the bloody hell are ya’ Australian tourism ad. Its tacky taglines resulted in the ad being banned in both the UK and Canada due to the use of "bloody".

Scotty from Marketing is definitely no marketer at all, because a good marketer understands that it costs 10 times more to find a new customer than to keep a good existing one.

While I am no fan of Daniel Andrews due to his mishandling of the hotel quarantine, and protecting those who deserved to be stood down without pay or sacked from the senior position, he remained calm during daily press update. He takes on all the blame, and says nothing bad about other state premiers and the PM.

It will take many more years for Australia to restart some manufacturing businesses, to produce goods to satisfy our local demand without relying on imports. However, it is not sustainable if what we produce cannot sell to other countries, which means lack of economy of scale in manufacturing or production, the costs will be much higher than what the consumers are prepared to pay.

Australians may not buy from China directly, but most online suppliers disguise themselves as from channels other than China, or in other words, Australians pay more through another party or multiple parties.

Biden will not win this unlosable election. Trump is a fantastic marketer, and he understands the psychological needs of his followers, while Biden keeps missing the opportunities to hit hard on the key issues.

Trump has a good chance to win, and he will make himself the peace maker after the election. He has to rely on China for supplies, as well as a customer. Out of the blue, bilateral relationship will improve, and he will come out the winner not only in the US, but also the world. Along the way, Trump will leave a trail of economic disaster for the blind followers.

Australia, the lap dog of the US will be the biggest loser, and most of our key exports will be replaced by the US’ and other countries’. There will be plenty of barley to feed our stomachs and enough wine to drown our sorrow.

How many non-Asian researchers can you spot in this photo? The world is full of racists, and they brand people according to their skin colour, or the country of birth. However, if these victimised people faces are not revealed, and true identities including name changed not disclosed, biased racism seem to take the back burner.

Scott Morrison has signed letters of intent with numerous countries to buy potential Covid-19 vaccines, but as far as information available to the public, China is not in the list. Is the government really working for the good of Australians, or it is another childish quabble not to buy anything from China, even if the vaccine could potentially save lives? Make friends, not foes. I have nothing more to comment. Thank you for reading.

Morrison government always talk about Chinese government not being transparent, especially during the past few months of Covid-19 pandemic.

What has Morrison got to hide by shielding the officials from the Department of Agriculture from appearing at the Ruby Princess enquiry?

What also chesses me off is that Daniel Andrews also refused to answer questions at another enquiry about the hotel quarantine debacle.

Daniel Andrews continues to refuse answering questions about the hotel quarantine, critical for preventing future occurrence, and proper management of the bureaucrats.

There is a distinction between a manger and leader. A manager lives by figures and data, but lack intuition and vision. A leader listens and observes, but not necessarily takes the views of his managers and comes to the ultimate decision. Well, there are leaders like to be known as Consensus leaders.

Once the aged care homes were identified as hotspots, prompt actions and sweeping changes should have been made to curb the mounting fatality. This incident is not different from the Hotel Quarantine debacle, the meat works, compulsory wearing face mask, and silly romantic exemption

Daniel Andrews has a lot on his plate, but he is really losing his grip, and the photo in the article depicted him as “I know better” body language.

How many more mistakes can Victorians tolerate before more lives are lost and the economy take much longer to recover, if it does?

This pandemic brings the ugly faces of our so called leaders in Australia!

https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/health-wellbeing/can-i-visit-my-partner-under-melbournes-stage-three-coronavirus-restrictions-c-1151237

I have been blogging about weak leadership, and the winner is Daniel Andrew, a Premier with no spine.

Can you remember the "No Means No" global campaign? English is not my mother's tongue, and yet I think I can understand the meaning of the phrase.

What sort of nonsense is to allow partners living in separate premises to meet, under "romantic exemption"? Didn't he talked about family cluster is one of the problems, let alone partners who are not staying in the same address?

This is beyond a child's logic that one cannot visit a relative or next-of-kin living in another address, yet one can visit a partner during the lockdown.

Confusing message like this causes more stress and dissatisfaction, and that's why some sector in the community has enough of the wishy-washy nonsense that come out the Daniel Andrews' mouth.

Read the Restriction Regulation and stop community transmission.

Sad if we have to return to the 70s, when I first arrived in Australia.

If Australians can't live in a united Australia, we can forget about multiculturalism, nor live harmoniously in this great nation we call home.

In my opinion, it is of utmost importance to have a day mutually agreed by all Australians and First Nations People to celebrate together as the Australia Day.

The only way to fix a problem is to nip in the bud.

Australia has been dilly-dallying in cancelling the F1 Grand Prix race, stopping inbound overseas flights, locking down cities and suburbs, closing borders, continuously debating about compulsory wearing masks, etc.

The most laughable exemption that defies logic is the social distancing between the school children at school. This is in contrast with teachers having to adhere to the rule.

In addition, the governments can't agree on aiming at suppressing or eliminating the coronavirus outbreak!

Oh no, this is not a communist state; how dare the state government use the ADF personnel to manage the hotel quarantine? Well I doubt a soldier in China would dare to have sex with a person in quarantine at the hotel.

Are you listening? Trump says, "it's ok to change your mind".

Australia need AustraliaKeeper to keep this country going

Where is the money to keep JobKeeper going? In short, we need a AustraliaKeeper to keep this country going.

Handing out JobKeeper or JobSeeker money to people to stay home is not the answer. After the lockdown, not only we have Zombie shopping centres, or ghost towns, there will be a lot of Zombies walking around, because their mental state is badly damaged and hard to readjust to face the aftermath.

Not only school age children are doing home schooling, or remote learning, all recipients should be enrolled to do some study online for continuously improvement.

By doing so, many colleges and universities can keep some staff on payroll, because lecturers are not entitled to receive money through JobKeeper.

Many stay home females tend to benefit a lot from YouTube improving their cooking skill. This is the big difference between male and female, and gender equality cannot be achieved by quota or force.

We are facing increasing number of people suffering from Depression. Where are the social workers? The sufferers need more than audio contact. Video contact can relieve some pain. Furthermore, sufferers should be encouraged to watch online videos on how to handling depression. The videos should be in plain simple language for ordinary public consumption, not just for people with academic qualification.

Young people must not be forgotten. This is the time we must tap their brain and come up with some good ideas to tackle the misbehaviour of some younger age group who have the misconception that they are invincible and indestructible by the virus.

They are so many programs the government can run to lift up the spirit of the home-bound during the lockdown., including online Practical courses on saving for rainy days, running a small business effectively, budgeting, the truth about immunisation and vaccination, etc.

Australians want Australia to be a free democratic country unlike those countries run by so called dictators, and yet the article highlights in reality, the Australian authorities are just pot calling the kettle black. Students ask government to help Hong Kong protesters come to Australia

Just be very careful. This is an opportunity and opening the flood gate for the radicals as well as the triad gangs to enter Australia. What guarantee is there that spies are not among those seeking asylum?

I hate to see our streets or outside the Chinese embassy or Consulate General of PRC filled with these new comers protesting and demonstrating remotely against the China.

How will the government going to deal with this?

Calls to 'respect media freedom' as five Australian journalists investigated

Australia suspends Hong Kong extradition treaty, extends Hongkongers' visas after security law imposed

I wonder whether Morrison will ever travel again after the pandemic and after he has lost his Prime Ministership. I can’t imagine if his plane transits in Hong Kong, and he is detained by the Chinese authority for all that he has said and done to stir up the pot.

Since Morrison suspends the extradition treaty with Hong Kong, it will be interesting to see what happens if the expats violate the HK Security Laws and Australia can’t do anything through diplomatic channel to help them to be extradited back to Australia.

Morrison is like a mad cowboy, repeatedly doing stupid things to upset China for the wrong reasons, just like his mate in the US. He is also a copy cat, wanting to emulate Bob Hawke to allow the mainland Chinese to stay after the Tiananmen Square incident, which was a much serious event than the current Hong Kong introduction of the Security Laws.

Before 1997, the year Hong Kong was handed back by Britain to China, many Hong Kongers migrated overseas including Australia. Most returned to Hong Kong when the hype subsided. Their money also went back to Hong Kong.

The situation is different now. China does not allow dual or multiple citizenship, and taking up the offer to stay in Australia will see Hong Kongers being strip off the rights as Hong Kong citizens. Most of them possessing the special pass will no longer be able to travel freely in and out of China.

What most Hong Kongers must realise the extended visa allows them to stay for five years, and they can apply for PR. There is no guarantee that they will be granted Australian citizenship. In the meantime, these Hong Kongers are basically stateless and may not be able to travel anywhere - self-impose exile.

Another thing to consider is that whether the assets of the Hong Kongers taking up the offer will be frozen. If so Morrison is going to face double whammies - one no money coming in, and two to support these people on welfare.

With Morrison at the helm, Australians are living in dangerous time!

Morrison fails to learn from the best in technology

It is a sign of naivety, weakness, jealousy, and stupidity. Instead of learning from the best in technology, Morrison follows a pack of wolves in sheep skin, fabricating rumours and lies without solid proofs and evidence, and putting China down in relation to the coronavirus origin, Xinjiang genocide, Hong Kong human rights, international security interference, etc.

It is dangerous to have a "leader" creating instability and hatred with Australian main trading partner and close neighbour. Instead of spending money on national development and improve the living standard of all Australians, he wastes it on witch hunting and unnecessary defence against Chinese.

A good leader creates peace NOT wars. A good leader develops harmonious relationship with other countries so that the people can enjoy everyday without fear of any upheaval.

Morrison fails to deliver and must go!

Whatever it takes for Victoria to stop the coronavirus, let's just do it

The single biggest failure in curbing the spread of the virus is the ineffective use of video advertisement campaigns, either on television or billboards.. With many migrants spreading the virus, different dialects or languages, words are not the best choice to communicate with them.

Winding back the clock to 1987, the AIDS ad campaign depicting Grim Reaper, and Australians being bowled over as bowling pins was extremely scary for children and adults, but very effective.

The public is constantly bombarded with horrific and very graphic images of smokers suffering from mouth cancer to lung cancer. Then there was once a beautiful lady who smoked and promoted Lucky Strike, but could hardly say things intelligibly now. All these will turn many people off from smoking including young ones.

TAC big billboards showing victims lying on the road, smashed cars, hospital patients, in addition to the catchy phrases, “If you drink and drive, you’re a bloody idiot”, are good reminders for drivers not to drink and drive, thus reducing the accidents on the road.

Many of the WorkSafe television advertisements and pamphlets are so graphic as well as emotionally touching. One subtle yet very powerful one is about the noise the footsteps of a person walking towards a workplace, and turned out that the person was not to be a WorkSafe inspector. When the boss breathed with the sign of relief, the real one turned up.

It is time the governments engage some brilliant creative advertisers to design some more graphic advertisements to convey the message about the danger of the Coronavirus. The current light weight, light hearted advertisements in English language are just waste of money. I am more than delighted to have a chance share my views on how the campaign should go.

I hope this comment is not to be ignored like many of others comments I contributed for the past few weeks.

Brett Sutton's boss stripped of responsibility after hotel quarantine failures

Remember the F1 Grand Prix case - to cancel or not to cancel? It was fortunate that Italy locked down first, not allowing out bound flights leaving the country, or else more Italians would be reaching Melbourne to attend the event. Italy was the European epicentre of the pandemic then, and that means the consequence could be disastrous for Melbournians.

Andrews government had a lucky escape, and to call off the a Grand Prix was a no brainer. I wonder who was the wise man behind to advise Daniel Andrew to take such step?

What cheeses me off is that many politicians, bureaucrats and CEOs who make drastic mistakes can walk away scot-free without showing any remorse, and still receive buckets of taxpayers or shareholders money. Do they they have any principles and conscience?

I really hope that every single person involves in the hotel quarantine debacle will be sacked, and not deployed in any state or federal government departments. Good bye, good riddance.

Racism is more than skin deep - stand up for yourself against racism before you expect others to do it for you

Most people of whatever skin colour are racists. Unfortunately the word race is too grey!

Racism is a mindset. Racists are bullies, and bullying is a psychological disease.

No matter one is born of any skin colour, or from any social background, one is born with certain characteristic traits. For those who are confident, and have the desire to break out of the cocoon or shelter, and want to be successful living among others, they will need to live like a normal "person" in the community, by not taking racism as a personal attack. Racism is a societal ill.

When did the white feel that they were more superior and how did they get that idea in the first place? When one ignores that superiority mumbo-jumbo, and targets on life success, taking any alternative paths if nece

Successful people create their own opportunity and wealth, and hopefully help others to do likewise.

I encountered supposedly racial slurs several times before from ignorant and idiotic Aussies, and I returned with my best verbal shots on the spot without any hesitation. If you think you can't, then start practising in front of a mirror now, because you need to be prepared if you're not good in instantaneous respond.

If someone tells you to take the virus back to China or whatever country, ask them how to it, or ask them to take it back for you if they can, because there is no plane to take the virus back. If the bullies appear to be from some ethnic origin, tell them to do likewise. The statement can't be wrong, because almost every corner of the planet has coronavirus present.

It is very important to speak using English in public, and shake off that strong accent. You can use your own lingo or wear whatever costume you like at home. If you do that in the public because that is your culture and identity, then you are no better than those who discriminate you. You unknowingly want to be a "separatist" and do not want to belong the larger community.

For those who have been following my posts in many FB groups, pages, Google blogs and newspaper comments, you will have read how I openly and strongly criticise the governments' inaction. I also get in touch with politicians to lodge my dissatisfaction.

Stand up for yourself first, before you expect others to do it for you. Better still, join a political party and be proactive in it. Get elected, and make a difference in the parliament. I know it is a long hard journey, but without trying, you'll be just another person in the long queues of whiners.

Dumb Australian authorities allow people to refuse coronavirus test

It really cheeses me off about the dumb Australian authorities allow people to refuse coronavirus test. Due to the top people keep criticising China for being autocratic and dictatorial, they basically forfeited their conscience to exercise the duty of care to enforce strict rules, including jail term.

Infected people go round and knowingly infect others should be charged with premeditated manslaughter, and the sufferers should sue the selfish twit.

Locking down hotspots 'an option', but not an easy one

Are we going to wait until the number of infections and possibly deaths soars through the roof before a lockdown is called?

Democracy is the name of the game and the hindrance. Since Australian government keeps criticising other countries being autocratic or dictatorial, they cannot do what those countries do, except to behave like those crazy idiotic “leaders” overseas, reinforcing the “Australia Can’t Do” mentality.

Governments need to bite the bullet not to pussy foot around when life is at stake. What is the point of collecting statistics if it is not put into good use?

Duty of care is the responsibility of every citizen and if any infected person does not go into isolation but go round infecting others is committing an offence and should be charged.

Aussie Values

Commenting on "Aussie values"

Define Aussie VALUES? NO ONE including Aussieland should kowtow to any country, but neither should any country including Aussieland interfere with other sovereign country to do their job according to their laws.

How good is Aussieland records in Human Rights? Aussie citizens can’t change Aussie’s Human Rights laws, death in police custody is not dealt with even mountain of money is spent on Royal Commission.

What has Aussie government done to quash recent racial abuse and discrimination?

We can ban all the imports from China, but which country will buy Aussie iron ore, coal, gas, barley, fruit, meat, dairy products, etc? Which country will send their students to fill the empty seats in colleges and universities? Who will fill the empty accommodation and spend tourist dollars to keep the industries afloat?

How is the Treasurer going to explain to his beloved citizens RECESSIONS quarter after quarter?

Why are Aussie politicians behaving worse and worse, and learning from and following the worst behaved person in the world, making foes instead of friends, especially with the largest trading partner which is the Goose that lays the golden eggs?

Liberal Party MPs have been sponsoring in FB, chest beating about Aussie value. One can be self-centred, nationalistic, and gang-ho telling others how to suck eggs, but remember, there are 26 millions mouths to feed in the Aussieland.

With a minimum wage of near $20, and near $25 for casual, can you afford to subsidise from your savings to cover the the exponential rise in cost of living if the lifeline is cut.

Yes, Aussieland is an island, and it had isolated itself from the rest of the world for a long time. The world was different then. The surrounding countries were under developed and Aussies were much wealthier blessed with abundant resources and brain power. Unfortunately, Aussies are falling behind, even in education standard in the global scene.

The word “corruption” was common in many countries’ vocabulary, but now Aussies can no longer deny corruption does not exist in this land.

Before I am bombarded with all racially unkind comments, may I ask what has CCP or China done to upset you so much? What have Aussie MPs done to upset the CCP?

There are different political parties in Aussieland - Liberal, Labor, Green, etc. They all have their so called values and ideals. Each thinks that they have the policies for the good of the Aussies. Are they? Even in the recent time, state governments can’t agree with the federal government. So do Aussies really believe that other government or foreign political party have to agree with the Aussie?

I am as Aussie as many rational Aussies. I have been an Aussie for more than 40 years! Wars are ugly, including Trade Wars!

Scott Morrison PM of Australia

Commenting on "Scott Morrison PM of Australia"

Morrison has lost all my respect as the PM of Australia, and I hope he will not win another term in office.

He is getting as nutty as Trump. Not only he starts to behave like Trump, but also he is making decisions on the run, like on the latest grant scheme to keep the tradies‘ jobs afloat.

The renovation grant is a bit of a joke, favouring the upper class more than the middle income group. This sounds like a great incentive, but with a price tag $150k to $750k renovation, can average Australians afford? This will benefit those who buy and renovate for flipping.

The negative impact of this grant is pushing up house prices.

Morrison appears more like a state opposition party leader. Whatever the Victorian Premier does, he says otherwise. During the early onset of the Coronavirus pandemic, he encouraged Australians not to concern about the spread and go to attend footy game, and now he sees no problem for large crowd to attend Black Lives Matter rally.

Did Morrison advise Trump holding a Bible to have a photo session in front of a church, and Trump with his wife standing in front of the papal statue for no other reason except to have a snapshot?

Morrison is so happy to be invited by Trump to attend the G7 meeting, and obligingly stupid to be the mouth piece of Trump to do the dirty work condemning China for spreading the virus!

What I expect from a Leader

Wake up people who blindly believe that they live in a country of democracy, observing human rights, civilised, and led by a great leader. You are not different from those poor victims who were brain-washed, and poisoned by their leader and finally perished in Jones Town.

A country needs a leader - one with empathy, dignified, and loves his people and his sovereign land.

A true leader commands from the frontline to lead his people out of trouble, and definitely do not hide in a bunker in time of an emergency.

A great leader stays calm and give clear directions. He celebrates victory, but not to brag about things that are yet to commence and results are still far fetched.

I am just a logician, and therefore I can only offer some logical advice to those failed leaders who open their mouths more often than doing constructive things.

Do not bury your heads in the sand or wear blinkers, because you need to see for yourself what your country has turned into.

Do not lecture other leaders how to run their countries, because you have no idea how to run your own life, let alone lead the people the country.

Do not ask for forgiveness because you have committed unforgivable sin, creating fear and hatred among the people.

Do not shift the blame onto others, because you have something evil you want to hide.

Do not blame others for reciprocating with violence, because leaders with a violent streak will resort to violence to settle an unrest.

Do not point a finger at another leader, because your other three fingers are pointing back at you.

No one is indispensable. There are many more brilliant people in the whole wide world can do a better job, bringing peace and prosperity to the one and only race - the Human race.

Please refrain from commenting with racial undertone.

Time and again, the loose canons, Deputy Sheriff and Gladys Liu, open their mouths at the wrong moment. Why do matters that involve China, our biggest trading partner, turn into brownie point scoring opportunity between the two opposing parties? Relationship is not developed when China is dragged in as a shooting target.

More than than 125 countries have signed up to the BRI, including our closest neighbour New Zealand. Shouldn’t these kind of discussion left to state MPs rather than a Federal member?

Cambridge scientist suggests virus did not originate in Wuhan

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/regional/2020/05/18/cambridge-scientist-suggests-virus-did-not-originate-in-wuhan

Why are Morrison and his two ministers so adamant singling out Wuhan as though it is the origin of the pandemic? How can any one with such biased, undiplomatic and gung-ho traits be a good leader for the country?

I do think many politicians, not only in Australia, let power get to their heads, and leave no room for clear and logical thinking. They do not read enough before they bark up the wrong tree, causing misery to the people of the country.

Not letting go their egoistic initial wrong decision, is like a dung beetle latching on some dung in a field, rolling it into a dung ball and growing it bigger and bigger.

More and more scientists around the world have come out with research findings that the origin of the virus was not from Wuhan, and the virus variant from from Wuhan is not the same found in the USA and other countries outside China.

If the origin of the virus is found to be from another country, will that country pay trillions of dollars In compensation to all affected around the world? Is Australia going to eat the left over pies from the face that was thrown at it?

Morrison government, this is not the way to gain publicity and recognition from other countries. Australia still has a long, long, long way to be the world leader. Will I see the day? I have no confidence at all not even if the sun stops rising from the East!

There are several global quiet achieving country, but Australia is not one of them, so long if the so called leaders continue to be big headed and pig headed.

Farmer turmoil as China‘s hunger for Australia wanes

https://www.theage.com.au/politics/federal/farmer-turmoil-as-china-s-hunger-for-australia-wanes-20200515-p54tiq.html

It only takes about half a century for China to rise from a poor developing country to what it is today - the second largest economy, a superpower with spaceship that reaches the dark side of the moon, high speed trains that connect major and smaller cities, largest port in the world, skyscrapers among the tallest in the world, etc.

How can that happen to China but not Australia? Australia is still talking additional runways in major airports, train track not well maintained to handle trains run at higher speed, let alone dreaming of high speed train, water supply that continues to cause interstate conflict, etc.

China was backed to the corner, some cities were attacked and occupied by the various countries after the fall of the last empire. In order to survive China supplied cheap labour, not imported workers, to produce goods for complacent countries perceived to be a class above. Soon these countries enjoyed cheap products, including high-tech devices and fashion, but lost the knack of hard work, and manufacturing skills. Compounding the problem is the squabble of political parties and divided national pride. Governments slow about the progress of the country and tend to forget the well-being of the people.

China had to start from ground up, determined and continues move forward.

Australians can be nationalistic, but it does not have the external pressure to make this a united nation. It is naive to make enemies instead of friends, because without trade with China, Australia cannot feed hungry stomachs. Cost of living will sky rocket if Australia relies on its labour force to do things at such relaxed pace. It is unimaginable that unions will rise again to rule the country.

Schools are under the state jurisdiction, so let Dan run his state the way he sees fit.

It is bad enough to treat teachers differently that schools are exempted from social distancing. This puts undue pressure and risk on the teachers.

The low number of children infection cases is likely to be proportional to the number of children being tested. What this simply means, the statistics all around the world about children being infected is very rubbery and the degree of tolerance is questionable.

The world is getting more and more dangerous to live in, and is facing complete destruction caused by aggressive, undiplomatic, self-centred, power hungry politicians.

Australia, with reasonably low fatalities in this pandemic, unless the second wave strikes hard, can become the world leader of peace and humanity, but its government chooses to be the Deputy Sheriff and know-tow not to China but to the US.

Printing money or keep borrowing are not the ways to get Australia out of financial wows after the pandemic. Australia is not the Gilligan’s Island, and needs injection of foreign investment and having other countries to buy its coal, iron ore, wine, education and tourism.

India has more coal than Australia and Russia holds the second largest reserve. As for iron ore, Brazil is still a very large exporter despite its production has fallen to 4th place in the last quarter.

Canberra to call Beijing's bluff over economic boycott threat

https://www.theage.com.au/politics/federal/canberra-to-call-beijing-s-bluff-over-economic-boycott-threat-20200428-p54nw0.html

Australian government howls like a wolf in a wolf pack, because it does not want to be left out, especially when big brother bully US is calling for an international inquiry into the origins of coronavirus.

The three Amigos from Australia, a country with a democratic political system - Scott Morrison, Peter Dutton and Marise Payne, have been pointing fingers at China so adamantly, prejudging China of committing the biggest international crime without giving China the presumption of innocence.

Morrison is the first world leader to call for a ban on China's wet markets. Payne suggested China withheld information regarding the spread of the virus, while Dutton said "China needs to 'answer questions' on the virus origins after unsubstantiated reports from the US that it was grown in a lab in Wuhan and accidentally escaped."

What if the origin is not Wuhan, but from the US or another country? Will US allow international scrutiny while the pandemic continues to kill more than 2,000 a day in the country?

In 2009, Australia had a record number of 631,935 international student enrolment, but in 2012 it fell to 515,813. The decline was not global event, but it was due to change of Australian government policies. The students went to other countries like UK, Canada, Germany, etc.

International students need more than education. They also need accommodation, food, recreation, etc.

There is a very strong competitor which can offer a place for the international students, as well as with great tourist destinations, and that is New Zealand which is more than a lovable country, but also has a down-to-earth and kind Prime Minister.

I have been a keen traveller and I know there are many countries that can offer plenty of places of interest to visit. Australia will stand to lose plenty if it does not play the card right.

Chinese people are very different from people in many countries - a lockdown in Wuhan means a complete lockdown. The people understand societal good comes before individuals'. When China is being bullied, the citizens unite, because patriotism kicks in.

Australia will be badly financially wounded after the pandemic and needs a lot of money to fill the financial blackhole.

I doubt Beijing is bluffing, because many countries just love to supply China anything and everything in order to fill the empty coffers.

Negative impact of coronavirus pandemic - Economic Depression

Commenting on "Negative impact of coronavirus pandemic - Economic Depression"

A few months ago, Australians were more concerned about declining in housing financing and weak income growth, but now the coronavirus pandemic bring forth two gigantic nightmare, namely unemployment and population decline.

The pandemic kicks start a depression, and this could trigger loan defaults and foreclosures. This would exacerbate price declines.

This is the first time Australia is facing the biggest population decline in history. More than 300,00 tourists, temporary workers, and students have already departed Australia this year. It is expected another 300,000 people could leave the country to return home by year’s end.

In 2018-2019, international education contributed $37.6b to the Australian economy.

The decline in international students coming to study has a negative impact on the survival of the higher education sector, as well as on accommodation demand, especially in the CBD areas and near the institutions.

Due to loss of employment or reduction in income, many young people move back to stay with their parents instead of living out in rental properties.

This is a global economic shock, and the recovery will take quite some time. However, for the cash rich, the opportunity has arrived!

This is how Australia can be hit by a sudden surge of infection cases, and the curve will not flatten but rise exponentially soon.

The idiotic politicians really have rocks in their heads believing that some young people can be trusted to follow the restrictions to stay at home unless for permissible reasons.

How can the full force of the law be thrown at such big number? How can the police contain and restrain these law breakers if a riot is to flare up? How can the police handcuff them without being closer than 1.5m?

It is joke that different states impose different fines and possible jail terms. Why can’t these be standardised?

Two weeks ago, 70 students from University of Texas flew to Mexico to a spring break party. Upon returned, 24 tested positive of the virus. Just imagine the number of innocent passengers on the commercial flight that could be infected by these brainless twits, all in their 20’s. This is how community transmission occurs.

Many people including the not so smart politicians misunderstand the term social distancing which does not just mean separation at a distance. Social distancing implies avoid social interaction or distancing from social activities.

I have been saying to bring on the lockdown, or better still call it CURFEW, a word most idiots can understand.

If my logical mind does not fail me, I foresee a jump in community transmission in the next few days, all because of these irresponsible hoons.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8163723/Pauline-Hanson-demands-politicians-pay-cut-coronavirus-crisis.html

It is a shame that major newspapers did not report Pauline Hanson had demanded that politicians to take pay cut during the coronavirus crisis.

She may not be academically qualified like most MPs, and her speeches are not that polished, but she always speaks intensely and with conviction.

What she says most of the time may not be politically correct PC, but hiding behind PC makes one a hypocrite, and defeats the principle of free speech and expression.

I was not a fan of Pauline Hanson at the beginning, but she has “matured” politically, and she even served time in jail. She can speak more clearly now than PM Morrison, who keeps beating around the bush, delivering confusing messages and makes a mockery of himself.

For people who were still actively working full time or part time, and business operators, they are getting assistance from the government. Spare a thought for those self-funded retirees whose hard earned money in superannuation funds and term deposits have plummeted so much, and can no longer support until whatever they have budgeted for.

This Coronavirus pandemic creates not just financial depression, but also a bigger one known as mental depression.

As medical professionals returning from South America, they should know that they have high probability of being carriers of the virus and can infect many others in the community. In addition, they intentionally flouted the laws and left for interstate instead of quarantined in Sydney.

Such behaviour is inexcusable, and they should be punished severely including having their registrations suspended or cancelled.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/a-fractured-nation-faces-its-greatest-foe-20200327-p54eow.html

If you have been following my blogs in SFC Coronavirus COVID-19 News & Articles, you would have sensed my strong objection against how the Federal Government and the Chief Medical Officer handle the coronavirus pandemic.

I cannot excuse the Victoria Premier for his debacle in handling the Grand Prix and not punishing those wealthy upper crust arrogant virus spreaders roaming freely in the community to infect innocent people, especially in some “prestige” suburbs.

Our country definitely has literacy and numeracy problems, and it is demonstrated very clearly under the weak and indecisive bunch of twits.

Anyone watching Morrison reading out the prepared speech at press presentation can see that he does not have much clue in the actual content. There are words he did not understand. It was very much like Pauline Hanson asking the journalist “please explain” the word xenophobic.

The way he tried to elaborate on social distancing showed how out of touch he was with public expectation.

The sooner Australia went into isolation, banning and testing every single person arriving by air and sea, and less chances the people within Australia would be infected and less tests needed, thus reducing a lot in the monitoring and medical costs.

Why reinvent the wheels when there are successful models around the world prove that lockdown is workable, and is a guaranteed approach to enforce social distancing - a way to flatten the curve.

Early lockdown is the way to go, but Morrison missed the boat. If all parameters in the economic equation remain unchanged, the economic costs and the amount of pain people experienced will be the same.
